AFD's many responsibilities include:

  • Conducting fire-cause investigations
  • Providing tours at all AFD fire stations
  • Responding to life-threatening medical emergencies
  • Sending our Special Response Team to mitigate Hazardous Materials Incidents
  • Responding to Confined-Space rescues
  • Reviewing building plans concerning fire-safety issues
  • Offering a public smoke alarm program
  • Conducting public safety talks at schools and meetings
  • Responding to vehicle accidents
  • Providing extrication at industrial accidents
  • Performing preplanning on target-fire and life-hazards within our community
  • Conducting fire-prevention activities at schools and public functions

Remember! With any time change you should change the batteries of every smoke alarm in your home.

Practice and update your home fire-evacuation plan and remember, GET OUT, and STAY OUT!!!
